Lanikai Mortgage Players The Lanikai Mortgage Players perform 2 shows a year in May & November at The Nelson and Lucille Shreve Theatre in Lanikai Park. Come enjoy the melodramas!

The Lanikai Mortgage Players originally were formed in 1963 by some very ambitious (and sometimes inebriated) community residents to help pay the mortgage and taxes on the private park located in the center of the Lanikai loop. Due to a lack of direction, the original theatre was "dark" for a short period of time in the late 60s-early 70s. In 1975 Lucille Shreve became the principle director of t

he theatre troupe and shortly there after her husband, Nelson Shreve, an advertising copy writer, became the troupe's melodrama playwright. Nelson wrote over 20 plays which the troupe still perform to this day amongst an audience that "cheers" for the Hero, "swoon" for the Heroine and "Hiss" at the Villian(s). We provide free parking and free popcorn for our audiences while they enjoy their own pupus and cocktails in our cabaret style seating in our beautiful new theatre named after The Shreves!

As we head into our Fall 2026 production we tearfully say "Aloha" to our recently departed, lovely Anne Marie Duca! We will miss you so much, especially during our shows, working and brightening our makeup room, wonderfully taking photos of everyone, everywhere! Give our regards in heaven to Nelson and Lucille, Eunice, Paul and Frannie Dillinger, Ted and Barbara Rodgers, The Wilburns, June T. and all The Lanikai Mortgage Players that are gone, but not forgotten 😢💕
