The Nebraska Department of Revenue is offering a Child Care Refundable Tax Credit for 2024. Available for parents with children age 5 or younger, incurred daycare expenses, and had household income under $150k.

An application MUST be submitted online (link below). The application will reserve credits to be claimed on your 2024 income tax return.

I highly recommend completing as soon as possible. The applications will be processed in the order received until the annual limit is reached.

On January 1, 2025, Nebraska's minimum wage will increase to $13.50 per hour. The minimum base wage for tipped employees remains the same at $2.13 per hour.

Nebraska's minimum wage law covers employers with four or more employees (not counting seasonal employees who work for 20 weeks or less in a calendar year).

The IRS has officially announced that the 2024 tax filing season will commence on January 29, 2024.

✔️Most taxpayers will receive their refund within 21 days.

✔️Those eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), refunds will be available starting February 27.

✔️Due dates for tax returns in April 15, 2024.
