Aaron Mullis started this law firm to assist clients in seeking relief from the tax collectors. Most of his clients were seeking IRS debt relief when they lost their jobs or business during the great recession. The bulk of his practice was the preparation of an offer in compromise in which he settled debts of more than $25,000 for less than $1,000. Over time, he expanded his tax debt relief plans into other areas such as innocent spouse relief to assist clients who or being forced by the IRS to pay debts racked up by their spouse. While submitting a request for IRS relief requires submission of one form, it requires hundreds of pages of supporting documents. For this reason, most requests for IRS debt relief is denied. Because of overwhelming size of IRS debt, many people just stop filing tax returns in the hopes that the issues will disappear. This this tactic usually results in the IRS being allowed to pursue taxpayers indefinitely. It is necessary for returns to be filed so that eventually the IRS will have to stop trying to collect a tax debt because they are prevented from doing so by statute of limitations. For this reason, Aaron prepares numerous returns that are subject to IRS scrutiny and IRS tax audit as he prepares years worth of returns to get his clients into compliance to file for a collection alternative for IRS debt relief. He has learned over time what issues the IRS focus on in determining how strictly to examine a taxpayer in an audit. This experience allows Aaron to prepare returns that are accepted quickly and efficiently.
