The IRS has increased the standard mileage rate for the remainder of 2026, effective July 1, in response to rising fuel costs.

If you use the standard mileage method, be sure to track your business miles separately:

January 1 – June 30: 72.5¢ per mile
July 1 – December 31: 76¢ per mile
