Tips for taxes this year.

If you had overtime in 2025 and it is not listed separately in box 14 on your W2, bring a copy of your last paystub of 2025 that has your total overtime pay for the year.

If you purchased an American made new (not used) vehicle in 2025, your loan interest is a write off.

It's that time of year again! A few announcements.

First day of federal and MN e-file is January 26th, 2026. This is also the day I will open the office for in-person appointments. I am currently still recovering from knee surgery, have pt twice a week, and getting my office set up for the season.

If you would like your taxes done sooner, please reach out through email. I check it several times a day. [email protected] We won't be able to file your return until the 26th but we can put it in queue to file immediately that day.

Office hours for Lake George office will remain the same this year Fri-Tue 10 am to 7 pm.
Wednesdays, weather permitting, I am at Weitzel Tax Service, in Detroit Lakes. If you would like to meet on a Wednesday, in Detroit Lakes, reach out through email or call and we can set up an appointment.
