Merchants are wondering why only a few businesses are able to take the Health food cards such as those from Medicare or Humana? Here's why:

🧾 1. They’re NOT regular money
These cards come from specific Medicare Advantage plans (like Humana), not from Medicare itself. [legalclarity.org]

They’re preloaded benefit cards
They can only be used for approved items (like certain healthy foods or OTC items)

👉 Because of this, stores have to be set up to handle those restrictions.
