If so, be sure to tell her about The Second Saturday Divorce Information Workshop for Women.
Since November of 2014 we have been offering this informative workshop at the Blue Bell campus of the Montgomery County Community College.
Our purpose is not to promote or encourage divorce, but rather, if a woman finds herself on that path, we want her to have the information she needs to make good decisions.
The morning of the second Saturday of each month we have three speakers. We begin at 9 AM and are typically done by 12:30 PM
The first speaker is a female family law attorney from Montgomery County.
Currently we have four attorneys on our team who take turns speaking throughout the year. These women are among the best and most respected family law attorneys in this area, if not across the state.
The second speaker is a family therapist. Currently our speakers are from the practice Choosing Change Counseling, a dynamic parctice located in Wayne.
I am the third speaker.
I am a financial advisor with 40 years of experience, located in West Point, PA
Our objective is to provide hope, information, and support. We create a safe environment where information can be presented.
As we begin our 10th year, we have had hundreds of women attend. The reviews have been consitently positive. Past attendees have referred their friends who are likewise facing uncertainty in their marriage.
What about the men, you might ask? If a man has questions or concerns, he can contact me, and I can provide him with information and answer many questions that he might have. I am not an attorney and do not offer legal advice, but there are many questions that I can answer.
Normally we charge $20 to attend. The value of the legal information alone is many multiples of that. The $20 goes to cover the costs of having the workshop. The workshop is very much a “not-for-profit” endeavor.
We are waiving that fee for anyone who attends as a result of this posting on Facebook.

Have you met Irmaa?
If you are a single taxpayer, who is Medicare eligible, with modified adjusted income in 2020 of $91,001 or more ($182,001 for a couple),
you will be getting a letter from "Irmaa".
In it she will tell you that your Medicare Part B and Medicare Part D premiums are going to be subject to a surcharge. These surcharges are a minimum of $80/person/month.
There are five levels of surcharge. The cost for the highest level is $486/person/month.
With proper planning you might be able to reduce or avoid having to pay the surcharge.

The link below takes you to a fact sheet prepared by our friends at CMS. It contains more details about the standard Medicare Part B premium increase of 14.55% as well as the provisions surrounding Irmaa ( Income-related monthly adjustments amount).
It is estimated that about 7% of people with Medicare Part B will be subject to this surcharge.

The 2022 Social Security cost of living increase has been announced.

Social Security payments are set to rise 5.9% in 2022 for 68 million retirees, disabled people and others. That's the most since 1982.
