Avoid Costly Mistakes By Understanding Your Employee Statuses πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»πŸ‘¨β€πŸ”¬πŸ‘©β€πŸπŸ‘¨β€βš–οΈ

Classifying your employees correctly is important because that determines if you should withhold income taxes and pay Social Security, Medicare taxes and unemployment tax on wages paid to your employees. Most companies tend to have full-time staff, part-time staff, contract workers, or a combination of all three. By properly classifying your employees, you are ensuring that you remain compliant with federal and state tax rules. This is crucial to avoid costly and disruptive mistakes at tax time.

Set Up A Monthly Bookkeeping Time πŸ‘ˆ

To ensuring that you do not get behind on your bookkeeping, make sure to set up a monthly bookkeeping schedule. Use this time to categorize any transactions that occurred during the last month and make sure that they are entered properly into your accounting software. This avoids costly errors from forgetting what a transaction was for or coding it incorrectly in your accounting software. This will also ensure that your bookkeeping is streamlined and as efficient and accurate as possible.

Once your accounting is completed each month, you should always do a financial review to close out the month. This allows all accounts to get checked over to make sure that no accounts look out of the ordinary and to ensure your books are healthy. Let us know if you would like a financial review done on your books. Your first consultation is free!
