This is important, if you own a business that is registered with the Indiana Secretary of State you need to file a Beneficial Ownership Information report at fincen.gov by December 31st. I provided my clients with the info when I did their taxes so this is a reminder for them. The penalty for filing the report is high! If you have any questions give your tax preparer or myself a call.

This is it! April 15th, let's get this tax season wrapped up! Office hours end today, by appointment only until 2025! Remember you can pay online if you owe federal or state tax and you can file for an extension if you just don't have it together yet but, it's only an extension to file not an extension to pay.

I have a couple of things to consider when you are getting your tax documents together. Did you make any energy improvements to your home, ie. windows, doors, insulation, furnace, water heater, air conditioner, if so bring in the paperwork for an energy credit. Please let me know if you acquired, sold or exchanged crypto currency, it's actually on the front page of the tax return! Your attention to these two things is greatly appreciated!

Some of you may have heard recently that the ATR checks Indiana sent out last year might be taxable on the Federal return. Good news! The IRS just announced they would not tax our payments!!! Carry on..... 😁
