💰 One of the best financial advantages teens have? Time.

Helping kids develop smart money habits early can build a foundation that benefits them for years to come. And those lessons don't have to start with complicated financial concepts.

A few ways parents can help make money lessons stick:

💬 Make it relatable. Start with things they're already interested in and use real-world examples to talk about saving, spending and investing.

⏳ Show them the power of time. Even small amounts saved consistently can grow significantly over the years. Helping teens understand compound growth early can make a lasting impression.

📉 Let mistakes become lessons. Not every financial decision will be the right one. Instead of focusing on the mistake, talk about what happened and what they might do differently next time.

🤝 Share your own experiences. Talk openly about financial decisions you've made, including both the good ones and the ones you wish you'd handled differently.

Financial literacy is a lifelong skill, and the earlier those conversations begin, the better prepared young adults can be to make informed decisions about their future.

RH CPAs is excited to be at the NCCIA Annual Conference this week! 👏 We’re looking forward to connecting with colleagues and friends from across the captive insurance industry and being part of the conversations shaping what’s ahead.
