Recently, Beth and her family hosted a sand art booth at the Seton SummerFest, using Thrivent Action Team funds to support their school’s fundraiser and create a fun experience for families.

Impact Spotlight: Feeding neighbors with dignity. 🍎

One of the most immediate ways Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) serves families in Appalachia is by helping fill the gap when food is scarce—especially for children and seniors, who are often hit the hardest by food insecurity. CAP provides essential food support through multiple programs, including partnerships that help distribute food, household supplies, and other necessities to families in need across the region.

And the impact is personal. A CAP volunteer shared: “The pantry is my home away from home… a lot of people in this community need our help and need food.”

We’re raising funds for CAP from May 12–June 12 with a $12,000 goal, including Thrivent/IWA match — and there’s a match opportunity to help gifts go further (give $1, Thrivent & IWA together adds $1, up to $6,000).

In one flood recovery story, a CAP team member shared how meaningful it was when support arrived: “They said, ‘Well, you’re part of our family, and your family is part of our family, and we’re here to help…’”

Impact Spotlight: Safe, accessible homes. 🏡

One of the ways Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) changes lives is through home repairs that make everyday living safer and more manageable.

Brittany and Rob, along with their boys, recently had the opportunity to volunteer with CAP and help Tammy and Richard Neeley with meaningful updates— including central heat, new windows, a ramp, steps, and a walk-in shower. ♿

Tammy put it simply: “I’m so thankful. It means a lot.”
