To assist businesses currently unable to operate due to the structural integrity issue at Empire Towers, the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) has launched the Empire Towers Disaster Recovery Grant.

Applications are now open at https://bit.ly/EmpireTowersGrant, with initial $2,500 grants available to eligible businesses located at 7310 Ritchie Highway or within the 150-foot safety perimeter (7300 or 7314 Ritchie Highway). Businesses that meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply as soon as possible while funding remains available.

For businesses that are located outside the collapse zone but have been impacted by road closures (500, 508, 512, and 514 Crain Highway North), the county is working with adjacent property owners to open detours to allow employees and customers a safe route to reach their buildings. The county will share updated route details as soon as they become available.

AAEDC remains available as a resource to impacted businesses to help them find temporary locations and other support throughout this incident. Business owners are encouraged to reach out to AAEDC at [email protected].

The Annual Summer Concert Series, hosted by Community Talent Associates Inc., is back on Friday evenings in Downtown Glen Burnie! The annual tradition is to August 21st, 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The musical line up for the rest of this season is:

250 years ago, our nation declared independence, recognizing that any legitimate government must rest on a democratic principle: government should answer to the people it serves.

For 250 years, Americans have continued the effort of turning that ideal and the promise of freedom for all into reality.

Today, let’s celebrate how far the work of millions of Americans has taken us – neighbor alongside neighbor, living and thriving across communities.

And let’s recognize that the work can and must continue: life, liberty and happiness for every person and community.
