Internship Description
We are looking for students who have successfully completed an introductory and financial accounting courses. NO experience necessary, candidates will be trained to gather the necessary data to compile financial statements such as profit/loss statements and balance sheets for our clients. Students will also be trained in the areas of accounts payable and accounts receivables. Under the supervision of a senior accountant, students will be trained to process journal entries and other accounting transactions using various software applications.
Responsibilities
Process accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Manage inventory and other ledgers for business clients in various industries
Assist senior accountants prepare and issue monthly financial statements
Conduct month-end close process, including account reconciliation
Collect, analyze and summarize account information
Assist senior accountants develop periodic reports for management
Assist senior accountants audit financial transactions and document accounting control procedures
Keep information confidential and secure them with random database backups
Keep up with financial policies, regulation and legislation
Requirements
Successful completion of introductory accounting courses and Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) courses.
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GMP), and basic accounting theory.
Excellent computer and software skills, including Excel, MS word, and Access.
Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
Excellent customer relations skills.
