We will be closed Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17 so our staff can get some much-deserved rest after the tax deadline. We will reopen on Monday, April 20, and shift to our summer hours of 12 noon to 4 PM. For all those who filed extensions with us, we'll be hard at work on them starting Monday!

📍Important tax announcements!

Starting Saturday March 28th, all drop-off tax returns will be filed as extensions only. If you still need to file, don’t wait—tax season is really heating up for us! Furthermore, our tentative date for accepting only extensions is Thursday, April 2nd.

Reminder that if you have a refund this year, filing an extension won't affect your refund amount at all. And if you owe, an extension stops the IRS from hitting you with a failure to file fee. In either case, an extension gives you a new deadline of October 15, 2025.

If you've already filed an extension with us, this doesn't change anything for you, and we will still get your taxes completed before our new deadline. Sorry for such a late announcement; the IRS just announced it this morning to shake things up for everyone on tax day😆

Due to the tornado emergency, the IRS has pushed back the tax deadline from April 18 to July 31 for Arkansas residents of Cross, Lonoke, and Pulaski counties. This applies to all residents of these counties, regardless of whether or not the residents had property affected by the storm. Give us a call at (501) 374-4560 if you have any questions about the new tax deadline!

You may expect a "refund shock" when filing taxes for 2022--thanks to pandemic relief measures passed by Congress, last year lots of people got large refunds. Unfortunately, the same will not hold true this year. The dependent care credit, the child tax credit, and the earned income tax credit have dropped significantly, causing refunds to be lower than last year.

We are now open longer hours for the 2022 tax season! We are accepting drop offs, walk ins, and emailed or faxed tax information. Give us a call at (501) 374-4560 or shoot an email to [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you!

Many taxpayers with dependent children under 17 years old will soon be receiving 2 IRS letters. The first letter will be going out around July 1, 2021 and will notify you of your eligibility to receive monthly advance Child Tax Credit payments. The second letter will go out around July 15, 2021 and will inform you of the estimated amount to expect in your monthly Advanced Child Tax Credit payment. These payments are expected to be going out only for 2021, although President Biden would like to extend them until 2025.

Did you know?
People who have not filed taxes CAN get this years' child tax credit. The IRS has set up a new "Non-filer Sign-up Tool" at irs.gov to help low income Americans register for the advanced monthly child tax credit payments. People can also use this tool to claim any Economic Stimulus money not received from the two payments approved by Congress in 2020. More info is available at www. irs.gov, under the "Get Answers on the Advance Child Tax Credit" tab.
