If you received HALF of your child tax credit, you will receive the balance when you file your 2021 tax return.
If you opted out, you should receive FULL credit at Tax filing.
You can't receive half up front AND full amount at Tax filing. Contact your Tax professional if you are unsure.

THE TAX MAN COMETH...

The IRS has begun the notification process to those of us that received a stimulus, but also claimed additional stimulus monies on the 2020 income tax return. "The Letter," mentions the Recovery Rebate Credit...also known as STIMULUS. The IRS has adjusted the 2020 tax return because their records show that 1 or more ssn's requesting the STIMULUS on a recently filed 2020 tax return has already received the payment. If you should receive such a letter please address the issue. If you feel THE LETTER is incorrect, follow the instructions provided to proceed with your refund recovery. If THE LETTER is correct, please see if the adjustment has created a balance due. If so, please make arrangements to pay the balance due. Good Luck Taxpayers!
