I’ve been part of LeTip of Kelso for a while now, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best investments I’ve made in growing Leading Light Accountancy.

When most people think of networking, they picture awkward small talk and handing out business cards.

This has been the complete opposite.

I’ve built real relationships with business owners I trust. I’ve had the opportunity to refer clients to professionals I know will take great care of them, and in return, they’ve trusted me with their clients too.

But the biggest benefit hasn’t just been referrals.

It isn’t.

Tax season is when you find out whether you did.

One of the hardest parts of our job is knowing that what we’re experiencing behind the scenes isn’t always visible to our clients.

Sometimes it feels like nothing is happening.

But often, your return is already in our workflow. It’s been reviewed, organized, assigned, and sitting on our whiteboard—waiting on one final piece before we can move it forward.

We don’t like delays any more than you do.

Our goal has never been to rush returns out the door. Our goal has always been to prepare them accurately, completely, and with the care you trust us to provide.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for trusting us during the busiest seasons of the year. We truly don’t take that trust for granted. 💚

Today we celebrate the freedom we enjoy as Americans—and I’m grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed to protect it. 🇺🇸

But today also reminds me of an even greater freedom.

The freedom found in Christ.

A freedom that isn’t dependent on a government, circumstances, finances, or the season we’re walking through.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36

As we gather with family, watch fireworks, and celebrate our nation’s independence, may we also remember the incredible gift of salvation and the hope we have in Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the incredible privilege of serving the businesses, families, and individuals You have entrusted to us. Thank You for allowing us to use the gifts You’ve given us—not simply to prepare financial statements or tax returns, but to lead with integrity, wisdom, and compassion.

Lord, we know we are imperfect. We fall short. We have busy days, human emotions, moments of frustration, and countless reminders that we cannot do this in our own strength. Yet You have never called us to be perfect—you have called us to be faithful.

So today, we ask that Your perfect love would shine through our imperfections. Let Your peace fill our office. Let Your wisdom guide every decision. Let Your kindness shape every conversation. May every client, every employee, every vendor, and every person who walks through our doors experience something different—not because of us, but because of Your presence within us.

Help us respond with grace when it’s difficult, with patience when we’re stretched thin, and with humility when we make mistakes. When our humanity shows, remind us to point people back to You through repentance, forgiveness, and genuine love.

May Leading Light Accountancy never simply be known as a great accounting firm. May it be known as a place where people feel seen, valued, encouraged, and cared for. A place where honesty is practiced, excellence is pursued, and Your light quietly shines in everything we do.

We are incredibly honored to share that Leading Light Accountancy has once again been voted Best of Southwest Washington! 🏆

Last Thursday, Raelynn and I had the opportunity to attend the celebration and accept the award. We didn’t stay long, though—we quickly headed out to cheer on Dylan at his baseball game. And honestly, that felt pretty fitting. Family is at the heart of everything we do.

This recognition would not be possible without God’s guidance and blessings, the amazing team at Leading Light who show up every day with dedication and care, and our incredible clients who trust us to be part of their journey. We truly have the best clients anyone could ask for.
