One of the most important lessons of history is that nearly every great nation was built through sacrifice, and, in many cases, the deaths and the shedding of blood of courageous men and women. Many Nigerians always ask: "Why are developed nations different from us?" History gives a sobering answer: No nation became great because its citizens merely complained. Great nations emerged when ordinary people were willing to: Demand accountability. Make sacrifices, organize collectively not having 18 presidential candidates and political parties that are thinking not beyond tribe, ethnicity, and religion. The prosperity enjoyed today in nations such as the United States, Japan, China, Britain, France, and others did not come easily. A pattern appears throughout history: Every great nation has a cemetery behind its prosperity, a battlefield behind its freedom, and a generation young men and women, boys and girls that sacrificed THEIR BOOLD or their comfort so future generations could live better, but history also shows something equally important: The highest sacrifice is not always dying for a nation. Often, it is by working honestly, refusing corruption, standing for justice, and building institutions that outlive one. That is the lesson from America, Japan, China, India, and many developed nations of the world. Their greatness was not free. It was purchased through sacrifice, perseverance, courage, suffering, and generations of determined national builders who sacrificed their blood for the coming generations after them. The sacrifice of the blood of animals had to be offered repeatedly, the one you sacrifice last election has expired, and it will not work again for this year election. The blood to forgives sin, cleanses the conscience, defeats Satan's accusations, reconciles us to God, grants righteousness, establishes a new covenant, and secures eternal redemption. The blood of Jesus is the final sacrifice for the salvation of humanity BUT Modern America was built on the sacrifices of soldiers, reformers, activists, inventors, workers, and citizens who endured hardship for future generations. The United States was born through war and sacrifice of the people not on the sacrifice of animals or praying in the blood of Jesus to renew the church goers hope every four years. BUT American colonists fought against British rule to gain independence. Thousands died during the Revolutionary War before the nation secured its freedom and established the United States. The struggle produced leaders such as George Washington, who risked everything for independence. The United States almost destroyed itself over slavery and the future of the nation. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers died. The war ended slavery and preserved the Union. About 2000 years ago, the account of John 11:47–53 says the chief priests, the Pharisees and a council, said this Jesus do many miracles. If we let Jesus alone, all men and women will become his followers, and they will take away our power and our positions from us in this our nation. Then Caiaphas the Prophet said to them, all of you know nothing at all, you never consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, so that this nation should not perish. Then from that day forth they took counsel together to put Jesus to death, and the blood of Jesus was shed on the cross. Today I am going to give you a history lesson about the Price Paid by Nations before Becoming Great One of the most important lessons of history is that nearly every great nation was built through sacrifice, and, in many cases, the deaths and the shedding of blood of courageous men and women.
