If you’re claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), here’s what you need to know:

💰 Most refunds are expected to be available by March 2, 2026 for taxpayers who:

• Chose direct deposit, and
• Have no other issues with their return.

🏦 Some clients may see their refund earlier, depending on their bank or financial institution.

📅 Where’s My Refund? will begin showing projected deposit dates for early EITC/ACTC filers by February 21, 2026.

You CANNOT file your taxes today if any of the following apply:

• ⚠️ You (or your dependents) have an IP PIN

• ⚠️ You worked a W‑2 job in 2024 and have not received your W‑2 yet

• ⚠️ You earned income from Independent Contractor/Direct Sales work that issues 1099s
(DoorDash, Instacart, Uber, Lyft, Spark, etc.)

• ⚠️ You earned any Interest or had Capital Gains

• ⚠️ You received unemployment benefits

• ⚠️ You or a dependent attended college and may qualify for education credits

• ⚠️ You paid mortgage interest

• ⚠️ ANY income or deduction that reports to the IRS and appears on your Wage & Income Transcript must be received before filing

🚨 This is NOT a full list — just the most common reasons you may need to wait before filing.
