Just a head's up for y'all that the office will be closed tomorrow. I just heard from my attorney and he needs some information that will require a bit of running around on my part. So I will be taking tomorrow to try to get him everything he needs.

I've had many people ask about the extension for disaster relief that they saw on various social media sites. Well, they were correct, I got the notice the IRS sent me in the mail, yesterday. I know the day AFTER tax day. But we all have an extension to file and pay until November 3, 2025. They published an article on their website outlining everything if you would care to read it.
I'm afraid to post a link here as I don't want to get in trouble for posting links on Facebook again. So, if you care to read the article go to the IRS website, scroll to the bottom of the page where it says "News & Announcements", there are four pictures, click on the second picture that says disaster relief, scroll down to the list of states and click on Kentucky.

Just a head's up to let y'all know. The office will be open the usual schedule until April 18th. Starting on the 19th our office will be closed until May 5th. It's been a very hard year and it's only April.

I've had no time to grieve the loss of my husband, I've had to rebuild the business from scratch and get through tax season. We had to change our name, so this page and our website will also change. I have several other things I still have to do for the business and so very much that I need to do personally.

I will be popping in at the office from time to time to water the plants, get the mail and take of business things that I cannot do with interruptions (like be on the phone with the IRS and state). So if you need to drop anything off, feel free to slide it through the mail slot. I'm sorry but I will not be taking calls or emails during this time period. And if I'm at the office when you happen to pop by, yes the door will be locked and I will not be answering if you knock. I need to take care of me, and my business by handling the very important things I had to put off to get through tax season.

When we do come back on May 5th, our hours will change back to off season hours/days.

Thank you all for understanding.

M broke our email. I cannot access email at all, and when we researched an eta on when I can access outlook again, they gave a rather vague answer. So I made a new email address. So if you get an email from taxes.tnttaxservice@gm...., yes its from me. At least google is reliable.

We got messaged a few questions, so here's some answers.

Yes we are still doing taxes.
Yes we are doing appointments and drop offs. Whichever is easier for y'all.
For now, I've been spending the mornings doing my doctor appointments (to keep me going) or with Tom, feeding him lunch then going to the office, sometimes depending on what's going on, I may even go up in the evenings, but I don't see well at night to drive so I don't stay late.
Still trying to get the phone situation at the office fixed.
We take lunch at about 1pm, daily til about 1:30.(we need to stay healthy so we don't end up in the bed next to Tom)
And lastly, no, you cannot get an appointment with Tom and please do not bring any of your tax documents to him at the hospital as it is not a secured location and we cannot control who goes in and out of his room, and he's not always in there.

As many of y'all know Tom is back in the hospital, he has had strokes, and has lost one finger (so far) on his right hand, but he may end up losing more of his right hand. So combined with the loss of finger and strokes, he cannot hold his phone. I turned the ringer volume all the way down so he won't hear it. The reason for this is that he will frustrate himself even more than he already has, trying to answer the phone. I understand you want to talk to him about taxes etc, but I need him to focus on getting better and doing his therapies. I also noticed that a lot of y'all have been texting him. He's never been a texter, but he really isn't one now as he cannot even hold his phone and he's trying to learn how to use his arms again and has to adjust to now being left handed. Along with this, our phones at the office have been all kinds of messed up. Sometimes calls go through fine and other times, we can answer and hear nothing, but on the other end it just rings forever, or switches over to Tom's phone. (I will be turning the call forwarding off that he put on and changing it to my new work cell phone) We're "discussing" the phone situation with specturm and hope they get the phones fixed, again, for real this time. So please send any texts to the following number going forward.

502-804-8163

Sorry, we did not know that the phones were being stupid again.

Just a heads up, Tom and I both were exposed to covid and tested positive. He was asymptomatic and has been totally fine. I however, have been very sick and am still testing positive. I will not be going into the office until I test negative as I do not want to take the slightest chance of giving this horrible mess to anyone.

Well we have no internet and no phones. It seems the weather has knocked it out. Since we cannot work without internet (our tax program won't even let us login without net), that would leave us just sitting doing nothing all day. So we'll be working from home today where I do have internet( I was late to the office cuz I was busy finishing up a tax return at home.) Spectrum has no idea when it will be restored.

Great news, Thomas Nichols has been given the all clear and is leaving Audubon Hospital and going back to Lynden Woods Nursing Home today.

04/19/2024

Thomas Nichols was brought to Audubon hospital last night because he was bleeding from a suture site that he possibly tore open when moving from one chair to the other. They've admitted him to ensure that's all it was and to made sure there's no sign of infection. I don't know exactly when he'll be moved back to the nursing home or how long he'll be here at Audubon. He's in room 5127.
