Just a friendly reminder that the federal tax deadline was extended to May 17, 2021 back in March. That gives taxpayers an additional month. Have a stress free Tax Day!

Anyone who received unemployment benefits during 2020 who filed their taxes already, will automatically receive a tax refund starting in May. This is as a result of the American Rescue Plan making $10,200 of unemployment compensation tax-free per individual.

The service intends to take steps to automatically refund money starting in May and continuing through the summer.
