In December 1999, Terry Favors, with the help and encouragement of his father, the late Grady Favors, and his mother, Colleen Favors, opened the doors to Express Income Tax in Macon, Georgia. Terry's father played an important role in helping him take the step from management into business ownership, and his mother's help helped create the comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that remains part of the Express Income Tax experience today. From the beginning, Terry wanted Express Income Tax to be more than a place to file taxes. He wanted it to be a place where people could feel comfortable, receive personal attention, and know they were being treated with respect. Over the years, Express Income Tax has remained a family business, with Terry's wife, children, and other family members contributing to the business and becoming part of its history.
