I had a conversation with a fellow the other day, who is retired, but still dabbling in the stock market. He mentioned losing $20,000 recently, but since he'd been doing this during his working years when he could recoup his losses while still earning, he wasn't concerned. That's fine.
When you're retired, time is not on your side to recover losses. You also no longer have that income. If you're in this same spot, think about it.
There are excellent choices to protect yourself and still accumulate.
