Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns, Toledo, on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 10:00am to 1200pm with services immediately following visitation at 12:00pm. Memorial contributions she requests go to the ASPCA.

Goodman Bookkeeping & Tax Services is deeply saddened to share the passing of Vyvyan Shelton, Terri’s mom, Brittani’s grandma, and a very special part of our office family.

Vyvyan was retired from her longtime career as a legal secretary at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, but retirement never really stopped her from staying busy. She enjoyed coming into the office for special projects throughout the year and always took pride in helping with tasks like mass mailings, deliveries, and anything else that needed a steady hand and a caring touch.

She brought warmth, conversation, and a social butterfly spirit into the office. She was also one of Terri’s biggest cheerleaders, always proud of the company Terri built and the clients it served.

We are incredibly thankful for the time, love, and joy Vyvyan shared with us. She was loved by all who knew her and will surely be missed.

Our family appreciates your kindness, prayers, and understanding during this difficult time.

We understand that rising utility costs can put added pressure on a household budget, especially when a home has poor insulation, air leaks, or an inefficient heating system.

Ohio’s Home Weatherization Assistance Program may provide free energy efficiency improvements for income eligible homeowners and renters. Services may include:

• Attic, wall, floor, duct, and basement insulation
• Heating system repairs or replacements
• Air leakage reduction
• Health and safety testing
• Home energy inspections and personalized recommendations

Households with an income at or below 200% of the federal income guidelines may qualify. Priority is given to adults over age 60, people with disabilities, families with children, and households with high energy usage.

Renters may also qualify with landlord approval.

Save the date! Ohio’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is scheduled for Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9, 2026.

During this three-day holiday, qualifying purchases may be made without sales tax, including:
• Clothing priced at $75 or less per item
• School supplies priced at $20 or less per item
• School instructional materials priced at $20 or less per item

This can be a helpful time for families to plan ahead, especially with back-to-school shopping right around the corner.

A few tips before you shop:
• Check the price limits before you buy
• Keep your receipts
• Remember that the exemption applies per qualifying item
• Review the Ohio Department of Taxation’s guidance if you have questions about what qualifies
