We're excited to welcome Richard "Rick" Rohl to Lohman Company as our newest Controller.

Rick is a CPA with nearly 40 years of accounting and finance experience across public accounting, private industry, and healthcare leadership. In many ways, his career has come full circle, returning to public accounting with decades of real-world experience behind him.

What makes this hire even more special is the connection. Rick previously worked with partner Matt Hatfield years ago, and when this opportunity came along, Matt knew exactly who to call.

Rick says one of the biggest reasons he joined Lohman Company was the culture.

He's looking forward to helping streamline processes, strengthen reporting, and provide deeper financial insights as the firm continues to grow.

It was a great week at Scaling New Heights 2026 by Woodard Company.

One of the highlights was hearing from April Rinne, bestselling author, global futurist, and change navigator. Her message focused on something many businesses are experiencing firsthand: uncertainty.

Two quotes that stood out:

As technology, AI, and business continue to evolve at an incredible pace, her perspective was a powerful reminder that change isn't something to fear. It's something to embrace.

Partner spotlight: Craig Lohman

Business strategist by day. Summer golf league husband by night.

Craig and his wife recently joined a summer golf league together while she learns the game, which means Craig is currently balancing two very important skills...Running a CPA firm and pretending not to coach every swing.

Somewhere between client meetings, tax planning conversations, and leadership responsibilities, there’s now also tee times, scorecards, and probably at least one discussion each week that starts with: “Don’t overthink it.”

At Lohman Company, we believe great advisors are real people first. The kind who care deeply about relationships, show up for their families, and understand there’s more to life than spreadsheets and deadlines...although Craig would probably still prefer a perfectly organized spreadsheet over a missed putt.
