The Maddigan Tax Service is no longer taking new clients. I am looking towards retirement. We have merged with Right on the Money and can be reached at the number listed above. This is bittersweet. More time for friends and family, but I will miss all the friends I've made throughout the years.

Both the President and Congress have signed the Supplemental Act that will give taxpayers an additional Economic Impact Payment. The payments are $600 for an Individual, $1,200 for those Married Filing Jointly and $600 for Dependents under 17. There are income limitations for these payments. They should start to appear in Bank accounts within the week if you had Direct Deposit on your last tax return. Checks and Debit Cards will be sent out right after that. You can get more information on the irs.gov website.

2020 has been quite a year! It has forced us to make many changes to the way we will operate the office in 2021 in order to keep our clients and staff safe and healthy. In order to limit person-to-person contact we are encouraging clients to either e-mail, "snail" mail or drop off your information to us in our secure box here at the office. We will review your information and contact you throughout the preparation and when it is done. If you feel you need to meet with us, we are allowing short appointments to review your information and discuss any concerns you may have. Masks must be worn and you must call the office when you get here and we will tell you when it is ok to come up. Hopefully this is just for this year and we will get back to our usual appointments where we not only do the return, but catch up on the year past. Please stay safe and healthy!

As I said in an earlier post, the office will close on June 26 and will reopen on Monday, July 13. If you would like to get your return prepared during this time, please contact my associate, Andrea Peterson, at (508) 947-9930. She will be covering for me and is prepared to help you out. Take care and stay safe!

Good morning! Well, the "tax season that will never end" has a due date - July 15. That date is adjusted in our office, as we will be closed from June 28 until July 13 for some much needed R&R. If we have not yet received your information and you want us to help you out this year, please let us know. We won't be able to complete your returns by July 15, but can file an extension. That would extend the filing date to October 15. Take care and stay safe!

Good morning! Hope this finds you all well. A couple of things.. The office is open to the public on a limited basis. We will only meet with one client at a time by appointment. If you are coming to pick up your returns or drop off your information, please call first. We will wear masks, have sanitizer available and will clean between each client. Secondly, some of you that have not yet received your stimulus check will be receiving it in the form of a Debit Card. It comes in a regular envelope with a return address of Network Cardholder Services. It is a blue Visa debit card with white stars on it. There is a sheet of paper included that gives instructions for its activation. Hang in there and stay positive.

Hope you are all staying safe and healthy! As most of you know, the IRS has granted an automatic extension until July 15 to file your tax returns. As summer is approaching, and the weather is getting nicer (finally!) we at Maddigan Tax Service are looking to finish out the 2019 tax year. To that end, we are asking those that have not got their information to us, to please do so as soon as possible. We would like to have all information in by June 1 so we can have your returns completed by June 15, so we can enjoy the summer - whatever shape it may be! Again, we are waiting for the Governor's directive as to when we can see clients, but this year we may only be able to work drop off, email or snail mail. Take care!

Hope you are all staying safe and well. Many of you have already received your Stimulus Checks and for the rest of you, "the check's in the mail!" Those of you that are eligible should be getting them within the next 4 - 5 weeks. Some of you may have received a check in error - for someone that has passed away, for example. If you do, in the endorsement area, write "VOID" and mail it to Andover Refund Inquiry Unit, 1310 Lowell St Mail, Stop 666A, Andover, MA 01810. Stay safe and positive!!

I hope this answers some questions. I know it will also raise more!! Take care!

Many of you are asking questions about the Stimulus checks that are being issued. Right now I know pretty much what you all know. I am waiting final guidance from my tax reference associations so I will have details. As soon as I hear from them, I will let you all know. Take care, be safe and positive!!

Our office will be closed to the public until April 7 per Governor Baker's directive. If you would like to drop your information off at the box at our office or get it to us either by email or "snail mail", we will work on getting them prepared. Please feel free to call the office with any questions or to let us know if you are getting your information to us during this time. Take care and stay healthy and positive!

03/20/2020

Good morning! Hope this finds you all healthy and in good spirits. Due to our concern for our clients and staff, we are strongly encouraging our clients to either drop off, email or "snail mail" their tax information to us. We will contact you when we receive the information and work with you to complete them. This is an unprecedented time and we are doing our best to keep us all healthy and still fulfill our responsibilities. Take care!
