A good CPA does more than prepare your tax return.

The best advice comes from understanding your business, your goals, and the decisions you are making throughout the year.

Whether you are planning to hire, invest in new equipment, or prepare for growth, those conversations help shape better financial strategies.

That is why we believe in staying connected with our clients beyond tax season. The more we understand where your business is headed, the better we can help you get there.

If you are looking for a CPA who is a year-round resource, we would love to talk. Schedule a discovery call here: https://scheduler.zoom.us/michael-dolezal/discovery-meeting

Business owners make dozens of decisions every day. The best decisions start with knowing your numbers.

Three numbers should always be within reach:

Your cash position. Not only what is in the bank today, but what is available after payroll, rent, and upcoming expenses.

Your profit margin. Revenue tells part of the story. Knowing which products or services generate the strongest margins helps you focus your time and resources where they matter most.

Your effective tax rate. Understanding what you are on track to owe gives you the opportunity to plan ahead rather than react at tax time.

If any of these numbers are unclear, now is a good time to change that.

As a business owner, you've invested years of hard work, long hours, and difficult decisions into building something valuable. But have you thought about what happens when you're ready to step away?

Many owners spend years growing their business without creating a plan for what comes next. The reality is that a transition without a plan can create uncertainty for employees, clients, and even your family. It can also impact the value of the business you've worked so hard to build.

A strong succession plan helps protect what you've created. It addresses ownership transfer, business valuation, tax considerations, and leadership continuity so the business can continue moving forward with confidence.

The best time to start planning is before you need it. The more time you have, the more options you'll have available.

If you've built a business worth preserving, it's worth taking the time to create a plan for its future.

Taxes can feel overwhelming, especially when you're facing a situation you haven't dealt with before.

That's why having the right advisor matters.

Our goal is to help clients feel informed, confident, and at ease when making important financial decisions. Whether it's a life change, a business decision, or a new tax situation, experienced guidance can make all the difference.

When you have a trusted expert in your corner, financial decisions become a lot less stressful.

You open the mailbox, see a letter from the IRS, and your stomach immediately drops.

Before you panic, here's something important to know:
Most IRS notices are not audits.

Many are automated notices related to missing information, payment issues, or discrepancies that can often be resolved without a major headache.

If you receive an IRS notice:
✅ Read it carefully
✅ Pay attention to any deadlines
✅ Talk with your CPA before responding

What you shouldn't do is set it aside and hope it goes away.

An issue that may be simple to resolve today can become much more serious if deadlines are missed.

If you've received a notice and aren't sure what it means, we're happy to help you understand your options and determine the next steps.

We are almost halfway through 2026. Before you get to July, take 30 minutes and run through this checklist.

The business owners who catch problems in June fix them for pennies. The ones who catch them in December pay for it.

✅ Compare YTD revenue to budget:
Are you ahead, behind, or on track? If behind, what changed, and is it a trend or a one-time blip?

✅ Review your cash reserves:
Do you have 2 to 3 months of operating expenses set aside? If not, start building that buffer now while cash flow allows.

✅ Confirm your estimated tax payments:
Have you been paying quarterly? Are the amounts still accurate given where your income is tracking?

✅ Plan major purchases before year-end:
Planning a big equipment buy or property investment? Talk to your CPA now, not in December, so you can time it for maximum tax benefit.

✅ Revisit your business structure:
Has your income or ownership changed significantly? Make sure your entity type still makes the most financial sense.

A quick reminder for business owners, freelancers, and self-employed professionals: your Q2 estimated tax payment is due June 15.

If your business had a strong start to the year or your income has increased since January, now is a good time to take another look at your estimated payment. A small adjustment today can help you avoid penalties and surprises later.

Not sure what you should be paying? You are not alone. We help business owners work through these questions every day.

Your bookkeeping should do more than record what already happened.

If the only thing you are getting from your books is a monthly bank reconciliation, you are using old information to make current decisions.

The right system can help you see your current cash position, which clients or jobs are most profitable, where expenses are creeping up, and whether you are on pace for your year-end tax estimate.

We set up systems that give business owners real-time visibility, not just end-of-month reports.

Because you should not have to wait to know how your business is doing.
