We give 100% of profits back to the artisans that make our line. Today, almost 10 years later, I am still the only employee. The reward is not financial.

Our page is about connecting consumers in the USA to Artisans in Nepal who don't speak English, don't have a computer or internet connection, and who often don't have running water or electricity. We want to use Facebook to create a communications link, and show how each purchase that you make directly helps the Artisans in Nepal. I started this business in 2004 with a single gpal, to hel

p people in the developing world who work incredibly hard, make beautiful handmade products, and receive so little for their efforts. I worked 13 years in the corporate world, and decided to start a business that could help others help themselves. We have many amazing partners that are closely aligned with our vision. RML (rmlsite.com) does all of our packing and shipping, customer service, accounting and warehousing for a small fraction of what anyone else would charge us, we have about 30 independent sales reps, and lots of folks in India that help us with Internet design and marketing. I work for home, and have never taken a salary or any compensation. The metric that we use to measure our success is how many Artisans can we employ, how much can we pay them, and what benefits we can provide. I along with so many others in our ecosystem, work crazy hard to make a difference, and while we have a long way to go, we've come pretty far since 2004. Narendra and I working on samples all day today, one more day then finished. Not many pieces, but happy with what we made.

After making samples, we took quick tour of his new factory under construction.

Amazing to me how he has grown his biz. About 14 years ago I made small loan to him for generator and sewing machines, and now he has a huge business with many tailors.

Super smart, hard working guy who makes amazing h**p bags, hats and wallets. Fun to see him each year.

Some random pics from Kathmandu.

The busy road is Ring Road, the building with the Coca Cola sign is the gym where I go to ride the stationary bike, and I just thought the green roof stood out from everything else on the street.

Some video of Binisha and I walking to get some h**p thread.

Then a guy moving some product on a rickshaw in Thamel… not uncommon, with crowded streets, things the best way to go a short distance.

Today is Saturday, no work. So I wonder around…

Working on new designs for spring 2025…. summer h**p hats is a top priority… plan to have lots and lots… I’m loving some of the early designs… h**p with a little splash of tie dye.

It’s been 20 years since I took my first step with this little venture… getting better every year.

Back in Nepal to work on new designs. Arrived today. I love walking the streets and looking for local inspiration. Prayer flags are everywhere and I love the symbolism and vibrant colors. Let’s see what happens.

As an aside, I have not posted in a long time, our FB account was hacked by “comfy shoes” and it took forever to get it back. Very frustrating! But we are back!!!
