If you requested an extension for your 2025 tax return, time is almost up. Remember, an extension to file was not an extension to pay. Filing late could lead to additional penalties and interest, so do not let your extension become expensive!

With heavy hearts, we remember Timothy “Tim” Lee Frazier, founder of Dixie Roofing, who passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 68.

Tim was one of our first clients when we began as Newsome SBBS in 1996. He was much more than a client, he was a lifelong friend to many of us at Newsome’s, and we are grateful for the friendship we shared.

A hardworking and kind man, Tim loved his family and his dogs. He will be deeply missed, and our hearts are with his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Friday, October 2, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Dolly was far more than a country music legend. She was a songwriter, actress, businesswoman, philanthropist, and a shining example of kindness, humility, and generosity. Through her timeless music, joyful spirit, and Imagination Library, she brought comfort, inspiration, and opportunity to generations of people.

Her remarkable talent made her an icon, but her loving heart made her truly unforgettable. Though the world feels a little less bright today, Dolly’s music, compassion, and extraordinary legacy will continue to touch lives for generations to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and everyone mourning this tremendous loss.

The IRS generally requires:

✅ A written acknowledgment from the charity
✅ A qualified, independent appraisal
✅ A completed Form 8283 with the required signatures

These requirements can also apply to cryptocurrency and other digital assets. Missing even one step could cause an otherwise legitimate deduction to be denied.
