Important Filing Requirements
To ensure your tax return is accepted, you must include your identity theft pin. Many taxpayers will receive their pins in the mail during January. If you do not have your pin, your tax return cannot be processed. Additionally, you must provide your preparer with the Marketplace Insurance Form 1095. Some individuals may have received their Form 1095 as early as December. The IRS will begin accepting most business tax returns starting on January 13, 2026. The IRS will start accepting Form 1040 returns on January 26, 2026.
