A couple issues that have arisen in the last few days, that I’d like to share.
1st, if you have scheduled a debit for IRS payment and it has not come out of your account on the date you requested, please note that it takes a couple days for the IRS to communicate it with your bank and the bank to debit the funds. The payment is still considered paid on time.
2nd, the IRS has announced they are no longer issuing paper checks for refunds. If you have a refund and did not provide bank information and have received a letter from the IRS, you will need to go to their website to enter your Information. Once you have completed that, the IRS will release the funds. Please be patient with the website as I’m sure many people are trying to access it so they can get their refunds. It may take multiple attempts before you are successful.

An FYI to all Tax payers that make estimated tax payments, the 4th period payment that is due by January 15, 2026, is required to be paid online only. The IRS is no longer accepting any payments by check. Payments can all be made through the following website. The EFTPS site is to be set up with primary taxpayer SSN for individual returns.

Effective October 17th, 2025, Individuals will not be able to create new enrollments via EFTPS.gov. If you are an individual taxpayer and are not enrolled in EFTPS.gov by October 17th, you'll need to create an IRS Online Account for Individuals or use the IRS Direct Pay guest path.

IRS is officially opening tax season January 27. 2025. As soon as your documents become available, please upload them through your account in Tax Dome and I'll notify you once I begin working on your return. If you do not have a Tax Dome account and want one, please reach out to me and I'll send you a request. Otherwise, you may still email/USPS your tax documents to me.

Reminder: under the PATH Act, Refunds for early filers claiming the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) or Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) are held until at least February 15 to allow the IRS time to match information from the filer’s tax returns with information on W-2 forms from employers.
