m that she would be able to stay home with our kids. We were living paycheck to paycheck and knew we needed to make a change. In 2019, we were 2 school teachers with a toddler that had almost $40,000 in consumer debt (cars, credit cards, student loans, appliances and even an engagement ring). We bought a house shortly after getting married with $115,000 mortgage and only a 3.5% down payment. Our current situation meant that having a stay at home parent and living on 1 income was impossible. With some focus and sacrifice we were able to get rid of all our debt. Around 24 months later, my wife quit her teaching job to stay at home with the kids. I am still teaching and have started financial coaching. We have been on 1 income ever since. If you asked us in 2019, we never would have thought that was a possibility for us. But with newly gained knowledge and support along the way, we were able to make it happen. We made it using the Dave Ramsey baby steps, but I know there are many paths to help people become successful. What goals do you have? Have you checked into all your subscriptions lately? If you haven’t done an audit on yours in over a year it is usually worth the time to cancel those unused, or redundant subscriptions. Easy ways to save $$.

I personally would search through banking statements to see what I still subscribe to, but there are apps and websites I linked in the comments that may help you sort through them quicker.
