Today, YFP Wealth Co-Founder & CEO Tim Ulbrich, PharmD presented a webinar in collaboration with the American Pharmacists Association on “The First Six Figures” and the financial decisions pharmacists face early in their careers.

From student loans and investing to benefits and building strong financial habits, these are important conversations that can shape long-term financial flexibility and confidence.

At YFP Wealth, we believe pharmacists deserve financial education that helps them not only build wealth, but build a life with more options and peace of mind along the way.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting pharmacists through collaborations with organizations like APhA.

What does it actually mean to live a rich life?

Not once you finally retire or hit a certain milestone, but right now.

That's the conversation Tim & Tim explored on the latest episode of the Scripted Wealth Podcast.

It's easy to spend years living from the outside in:
- Get the degree
- Get a good job
- Get promoted
- Keep going to the next milestone

Most pharmacists are rule followers, so this pathway only makes sense.

However, at some point, we pause and ask, “Is this actually the life I want to build?”

It first starts as a quiet thought, then a whisper, and, eventually, we build the courage to say it out loud.

Yes, financial planning, retirement planning, investment planning, and tax planning all matter...a lot.

But that should be table stakes. Ultimately, the plan is there to support something bigger.

Typically, that's more intentional use of your time, your money, and your relationships.

If you haven’t listened to the episode yet, we’d love for you to check it out...available on our website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.

New episode of Scripted Wealth: Money & Meaning for Pharmacists is live!

This week, Tim Ulbrich PharmD and Timothy Baker, CFP®, RICP®, RLP®, CBDA explore a question that sits underneath so many financial planning conversations:

"What does it actually mean to live a rich life?"

The discussion covers:
- the tension between achievement and fulfillment
- outside-in vs inside-out financial planning
- the risk of living on autopilot
- why financial planning is ultimately about alignment
- how time, flexibility, relationships, and experiences shape a meaningful life

The financial plan isn’t the goal. It’s the tool that supports the life you want to live. That's what this episode is all about.

🎧 "What Does a Rich Life Actually Mean?" is now available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and at YFP Wealth.

We had over 100 applications for the 2026 YFP Gives scholarships.

To be exact, 102.

That’s a big jump from previous years, and it says a lot about the next generation of pharmacists.

More students, residents, and fellows are thinking intentionally about their future…not just their career path, but how money, goals, and life all connect.

We’ll be awarding 10 scholarships this year, and our team will begin the review process soon.

Grateful to be part of supporting this community in a small way.

P.S. There are more qualified applicants than we’ll be able to support this year. If you’d like to be part of helping us grow the number of scholarships we can offer, we’d love to connect.

Choosing a financial planner shouldn’t feel confusing…but for many, it does.

Titles aren’t standardized, incentives vary, and advice can differ widely.

In his recent personal finance column in Pharmacy Times, YFP Wealth Co-Founder & CEO Tim Ulbrich PharmD, outlines a practical framework pharmacists can use to evaluate a financial planner with more clarity and confidence.

The goal isn’t to find someone who can “beat the market.”

It’s to find a partner who helps you make better decisions over time.

We’re excited to introduce Scripted Wealth: Money & Meaning for Pharmacists.

After 500+ episodes, this relaunch of our podcast aligns with the recent transition from Your Financial Pharmacist to YFP Wealth and reflects the evolution of our community and our work.

For years, we’ve focused on helping pharmacists build a strong financial foundation.

And we'll continue to do so.

But now, we are expanding the conversation.

Not just how to build wealth, but also how to use it.

Not just the numbers, but the purpose behind them.

This podcast will continue to cover the technical aspects of financial planning, including investing, retirement, tax strategy, and more.

But it will also go deeper into the qualitative side of wealth...time, flexibility, purpose, relationships, and giving.

The decisions that define what a rich life actually looks like.

We’re excited to bring more stories, more real-life scenarios, and more behind-the-scenes insight into how financial planning connects to life.

🎧 Listen to the first episode available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify, and let us know what topics you’d love for us to cover in this next chapter.

One of the biggest retirement decisions you will make is when to claim Social Security.

Should you claim at 62?

Wait until full retirement age?

Delay until 70?

The answer depends on much more than just maximizing the monthly check.

Health, longevity, marital status, retirement timing, taxes, work plans, pensions, and other retirement income sources can all influence the best strategy.

For many pharmacists, Social Security becomes one of the biggest puzzle pieces in building a retirement paycheck...serving as a critical piece in creating a "floor" of monthly income that informs how other assets will be withdrawn.

And, through proactive planning, we can avoid making a decision based on a rule of thumb, fear, or what a colleague or friend did.

That is why YFP Wealth Co-Founder & COO, Timothy Baker, CFP®, RICP®, RLP®, CBDA, is hosting an upcoming webinar on April 28th at 12pm EST all about Social Security planning.

During this session, Tim will cover:
- When it may make sense to claim early
- When delaying may be beneficial
- How Social Security impacts spouses and survivors
- Common mistakes to avoid
- How Social Security fits into a broader retirement income strategy

Last week, the market hit record highs.

Today, markets are down, and oil prices are climbing.

That can feel unsettling.

But this is also a reminder that volatility is a normal part of investing.

There will always be scary headlines.

There will always be uncertainty.

There will always be moments where it feels tempting to change course.

But long-term investing is not about reacting emotionally to short-term headlines.

It is about building a plan that can weather uncertainty and stay disciplined over time.

If your goals have not changed, your investment plan may not need to change either.

Sometimes the best thing to do is zoom out.

Whether you are in pharmacy school, are trying to save for your child’s tuition, or are paying back your student loans, the cost of higher education can feel like a tremendous burden.
But what can you do about it?

Think about your journey to become a pharmacist.
It likely took you 6-8 years of school and maybe even 1-2 more years of postgraduate training.
You probably took out six figures of student loans to get the job done.
Plus, think about all of the energy and sacrifices you’ve made to get to this point of earning a good income.
Pharmacists with a typical salary will make approximately $9 million dollars over their working career when factoring in raises and inflation.
