Many business owners have all three:

✔️ A buy-sell agreement
✔️ A business valuation
✔️ A funding strategy

The problem is that they are often created at one point in time and never revisited.

We've seen businesses establish a buy-sell agreement when the company was worth approximately $2 million. Years later, when it came time to sell, the business was worth closer to $30 million but the agreement had never been updated.

That's where gaps can emerge.

An outdated valuation may not reflect the true value of the business. Insurance funding may no longer be sufficient to support the agreement. Or there may be no funding strategy in place at all.

The question isn't simply whether you have a buy-sell agreement.

The question is whether your agreement, valuation, and funding still align with the business you've built today.
