It’s that time again! The great MN State Fair is on! As a farm kid in 4-H, I’d be busy preparing my cows for the long Labor Day weekend at the fair! 🍀🐮Sleeping in the Hilton (the 4-H building on the upper floors that the public doesn’t see)! 🏫Back then bunk beds were stacked up to four high. We thought it was so cool. Never thought about how dangerous it was.

Well…I won’t be bringing any cattle, but you will find me at the Thrivent booth this Saturday, August 29th from 7-9pm. Stop by and say hello! I’d love to see you!!!

Where are the writers in my network?!?!?!

Q Minnesota is looking for writers.

We're building a new LGBTQ+ magazine and website for Minnesota, launching this October, and it only works if the writers are as wide as the community itself. We want pitches from writers across race and ethnicity, trans and nonbinary experience, generation, rural and urban Minnesota, disability, immigration status, class, and faith, not only the names already in circulation.

You don't need clips from a national outlet. You don't need a journalism degree. Tell us what the story is and why you're the person to write it. We pay competitively, and we'll tell you the rate before you start writing.

Witnessing my clients reach their goals is one of my greatest joys! I first met Abigail and Jill on March 6th, 2026. We spent our time together that day talking about their values and beliefs and the future they dream for themselves. One of their first goals was purchasing their first home. 🏠 The joy on their faces as they sign closing documents is absolutely heart-warming!!💞
