SCAM ALERT: We’re seeing an increase in fraudulent IRS CP53E notices.

While CP53E letters are legitimate IRS notices, scammers are using fake versions to steal personal and banking information.

A real CP53E notice usually means the IRS could not complete your direct deposit and will instead mail a paper check. The IRS will NOT ask you to resubmit banking information.

Red flags to watch for:
• Requests for SSNs, bank logins, or PINs
• Urgent or threatening language
• QR codes or links not ending in IRS.gov
• Suspicious phone numbers or websites

If you receive a notice you’re unsure about, verify everything directly through IRS.gov or contact JTK Advisors before responding.

A good year doesn’t mean a good strategy.

One strong year can come from a lot of things—timing, demand, even luck. But without a clear financial plan behind it, that success isn’t always repeatable… or sustainable.

We see it often: revenue is up, but there’s no structure around cash flow, no tax planning in place, and no real understanding of what’s driving profitability.

A true strategy makes your growth intentional. It gives you visibility, consistency, and control—year after year.

JTK Advisors helps you turn a good year into a long-term plan.

So you filed an extension… now what?

Filing an extension gives you more time to submit your tax return—but it does not extend your payment deadline. If you expect to owe taxes, the IRS still requires a payment by the original filing date.

“But how do I know what I owe if I haven’t filed yet?”

You’re not expected to know the exact number—but you are expected to make a reasonable estimate. This is typically based on your prior year’s return, your income for the current year, and any payments or withholdings you’ve already made.

From there, a payment is submitted based on that estimate.

If you overpay, you’ll receive a refund when your return is finalized. If you underpay, you may owe the remaining balance—along with potential interest or penalties.

Filing an extension can be a smart move when done correctly. It gives you the time to file accurately and avoid rushing through important financial details.

Bottom line: an extension gives you time to file—not more time to pay.

Time is running out in tax season. ⏳

If you haven’t filed yet, the window is closing fast - and waiting until the last minute can cost you more than just stress. Missed deductions, overlooked credits, and avoidable penalties become far more likely when you rush. 💰💨

Here’s the reality:
Filing late can trigger penalties and interest.

‼️REMINDER:
Extensions give you time to file, NOT time to pay.

Proactive planning now can still reduce what you owe.

Whether you’re an individual or a business owner, these final weeks matter. Clean up your records, review your numbers carefully, and make informed decisions before the deadline hits.

If you’re cutting it close, now is the time to act. Don’t let urgency replace strategy.
