Women’s History Month Spotlight ✨

Martha Stewart built a brand rooted in ownership, discipline, and reinvention. She proved that longevity is built through vision and adaptability.

Reinvention is not failure. It is evolution.

For many women, retirement is another form of reinvention. It is not simply about stepping away from work. It is about redefining income, purpose, and what comes next.

On April 22, we are hosting Retirement, Reimagined — an evening focused on retirement planning for women. We will cover income planning, taxes, Social Security, and healthcare in a clear and practical way, followed by dinner at Firebirds.

Women’s History Month Spotlight ✨

Amelia Earhart did not wait for permission. She took action. She stepped into uncharted territory and expanded what women believed was possible.

Being first requires courage. Staying the course requires conviction.

Women’s History Month Spotlight ✨

Aretha Franklin did not just sing. She commanded space. Her voice shaped culture, defined an era, and reminded women that presence matters.

Power looks different for everyone. Sometimes it is bold. Sometimes it is steady. But it is always intentional.

Financial boundaries aren’t about saying no to everything.
They’re about protecting what you’ve built and reducing stress as responsibilities and relationships grow.

That can look like:
• Being clear about when financial support becomes enabling
• Setting expectations with children or family members who take financial help for granted
• Putting safeguards in place to protect aging parents without taking on everything yourself
• Planning for potential disruptions — legal, employment, or health-related — before they become urgent

Confidence grows when clarity replaces avoidance, and strong financial boundaries often make family relationships healthier, not harder.

Money conversations don’t end relationships.
Avoiding them does.

Money is one of the most common sources of tension in relationships. This is because people often come into relationships with different experiences, habits, and expectations around money.

One person may value security.
The other may value flexibility.

Neither is wrong, they’re just different.

The couples we see navigate money best aren’t the ones who agree on everything. They’re the ones who communicate clearly, understand each other’s priorities, and have a shared plan that reflects both perspectives.

Avoiding money conversations doesn’t protect the relationship.
It usually adds stress over time.

Clarity creates confidence, and a plan creates space for better conversations.

If you’ve been wanting to talk through how money fits into your relationship, or been feeling stuck on where to start, we’re always happy to have a conversation.

Most people don’t feel stressed about money because they’re bad with it. They feel stressed because they don’t have clarity.

Loving your finances isn’t about budgeting or being perfect — it’s about understanding your numbers and having a plan that supports your life, not adds stress to it.

If money feels stressful instead of empowering, you’re not alone.

If you’re looking for clarity and want to talk through your own situation, we’re always happy to have a conversation.

Money is one of the top sources of tension in relationships — but even strong couples can stumble when they avoid key conversations.

After studying more than 60 couples, money expert Heather Boneparth found that the happiest partners share five habits:

1. They adapt when circumstances change, instead of sticking to outdated routines.
2. They don’t dwell on past money regrets or let shame drive decisions.
3. They avoid holding mistakes over each other’s heads.
4. They prioritize shared goals rather than constant comparison.
5. They stay honest about spending and values, building trust through transparency.

The takeaway: Communication matters just as much as cash flow. When couples talk openly, they make better decisions, reduce stress, and stay aligned through every season of life.

💬 Curious where you and your partner align (or avoid talking about money)? Let’s start the conversation.

"You can love each other deeply and still allow money to erode your relationship if you're talking about the wrong issues, or not talking at all," writes money expert Heather Boneparth.
