Sometimes the best thing you can do for your career is admit you're not in the right seat. 💙
This week I had the honor of speaking as an Advisor Champion for Ameriprise Financial in New York, sharing the story of how my team at Sherfina Advisors has grown.
Here's why I said yes. Years ago, I knew I wasn't where I was meant to be. I had the drive and the vision, but I was in a seat that didn't fit. Making the move to build my own practice at Ameriprise was one of the scariest and best decisions I've ever made. The growth since then has gone beyond anything I imagined, and it came from believing I could build something bigger and finding a place that believed in me too.
If you're reading this and quietly feeling like you're in the wrong seat, I hope you hear this: that feeling isn't failure, it's information. Trust it. Bet on yourself. You can grow, too.
And of course, it wasn't all work! 🗽 Joel and Kash came along, so we turned it into a mini family adventure. We posed with the ONE WTC sign above the skyline, ate an incredible Korean steakhouse dinner, walked the High Line, and settled the important question of who makes the best New York bagel. (I may have taken a bite before the photo... 🥯😉)
