~ IMPORTANT INFO: On March 25, 2025 President Trump signed Executive Order 14247 entitled "Modernizing Payments To and From America's Bank Account".

The EO directs the Secretary of the Treasury to stop issuing paper checks for federal disbursements, including tax refunds, after September 30, 2025, with limited exceptions.

After September 30, 2025 tax refunds are to be issued by an electronic method. Beyond direct deposit, the IRS hasn't yet indicated what other non-electronic refund methods will be available for tax returns, if any, such as debit and credit cards, prepaid cards, digital wallets, etc.

The EO also directs to the Secretary of the Treasury "as soon as practicable, and to the extent permitted by law, all payments made to the Federal Government shall be processed electronically." This includes payments of balances due as well as estimated tax payments.

The IRS has not yet issued guidance regarding the exceptions and accommodations for taxpayers who haven't got a bank account or for whom electronic methods would be a hardship.

The IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days for taxpayers who filed electronically and select direct deposit, but the agency reports some refunds may take longer.

* Attention Taxpayers *
Please read the attached article regarding the 3rd stimulus checks that were sent out in 2021 and be on the lookout for IRS Letter 6475 coming soon!! This letter will be separate from Letter 6419 that is in regards to the Advanced Child Tax Payments. It is very important that you bring the letter(s) with you so that we can correctly report on your tax return any amounts you received in 2021. We want you to get any monies you are entitled to that you may not have gotten already, so please look for these letters coming in January!!

** ATTENTION: Advanced Child Tax Credit Recipients 📄💸
~ In January 2022, (if not before), the IRS will be sending you Letter 6419 to provide the total amount of advance Child Tax Credit payments that were disbursed to you during 2021. Please keep this letter regarding your advance Child Tax Credit payments with your tax records. You WILL BE REQUIRED to turn this letter in with your tax documents in order for us to prepare and file your 2021 tax return during the 2022 tax filing season.
