Hard to believe that it is November 2nd - especially when it is 80 degrees outside but according to the calendar it is. Today we start a series on ways that you can get ahead of your 2016 tax return.

With two months left in 2016, there is still time to make this tax season a little easier.

For this first post we will start with an easy task - Before this weekend, and daylight savings time kicks in, take an hour or so to locate your receipts, business records, last year's tax return and put them in a file labeled 2016 taxes. Go through your credit card receipts and bank statements and find those deductible payments that are easy to forget about in the rush to get your taxes done.

Just think, you spend an hour getting this together now and you get the hour back Saturday night. BOOM!

It’s here! Finally the Kentucky One Stop Portal will let you file your sales and use taxes online. I don’t know about you, but filing them on a long paper form every month just seemed so old-school and onerous. Since I inadvertently discovered this while filing information for one of my clients I thought I’d share the good news.
