We've updated our website!

It had been a while, and a lot has changed around here — new faces have joined our team over the past few years, and we wanted our site to actually reflect who we are now. More photos of the people you'll actually talk to when you call or stop in, and a little more of that hometown feel we've always tried to have.

We’ve been working on something new in our office… our Community Wall. ❤️
Here at Balanced Accounting & Tax Services, we are passionate about supporting our community. That includes not just our local small businesses but the schools and many small nonprofit organizations …especially those supporting our youth.
Over the years, when we’ve provided sponsorships or donations, we’ve received so many thoughtful thank-yous, photos, and reminders of the impact these organizations are making. We wanted a place to display those instead of tucking them away in a drawer where they wouldn’t be seen.
Our Community Wall is a way for us to celebrate the organizations, people, and causes that make our community stronger. ❤️
We’re excited to continue adding to it as we support more amazing organizations in the future.

Today, a very special member of the Balanced Accounting & Tax Services family is celebrating a milestone birthday.

Ms. Mary Jane Hinsey turns 100 years old today! 🎉

Many of you know her as Marcy’s “Mudder” (aka her mother-in-law), Den’s mom and she’s also the grandmother of our own Grace and Amanda.

Help us wish this spunky lady a very Happy 100th Birthday! We hope her day is filled with love, laughter, family, and all the cake she can eat.

At 100 years, she’s still stealing hearts. ❤️

Help us congratulate Kevin Young on being named MTA's Volunteer of the Year! We are proud to have you as a part of our team and appreciate all you do for the community. Congrats, Kevin!!

Kevin Young, Pokagon Township (Cass Co.) treasurer, has volunteered at every MTA Annual Conference he's attended—more than 20 in all! Over the years, he has served as a Conference sergeant-at-arms, helping monitor classrooms & assist attendees during the event's 50-plus educational sessions. The vital role of volunteers not only helps MTA's annual event run smoothly, it is also a critical facet of every Michigan community. With this, Kevin was honored for his years of service to his peers with MTA's inaugural "Volunteer of the Year" award! ✨

“Thank you to MTA for recognizing me as the first honoree of ‘Volunteer of the Year’ and to my township board for their support,” said Young, who also serves on the township planning commission. “There are always opportunities to volunteer, whether it is at the MTA Conference, in your own township or in your area or broader community.”

Since most of our staff is back into their off-season reading, we've been thinking about adding a little outdoor community library/book exchange outside our office — and we want YOUR input!
Would anyone in the community actually use it?

We know the exact cozy cottage/bookshop vibe we want… but everything we've found is either super expensive or not quite right.
We'd also love to add a small printed newsletter box on the side — so clients who prefer to unplug can still grab updates and stay in the loop without needing social media, email, or texts!
