Now is a good time to make sure you have gathered any remaining tax documents, answered outstanding questions, and sent your information to your tax preparer. Waiting until the last few days can make an already busy deadline feel much more stressful than it needs to be.

Tax season is much less stressful when you're not hunting down paperwork at the last minute.

Throughout the year, try to keep important documents in one place, especially when something big happens. Bought or sold a home? Started a business? Had a baby? Made a large charitable donation? Received an important tax form? Go ahead and save that paperwork in a spot you'll remember.

If you think it might be important, keep it. We would much rather take a look and tell you it is not needed than have you trying to track it down later.

A little organization now can make tax season much smoother when it gets here!
