Let's meet Berkeley County Deputy Dezmon Drayton. Deputy Drayton was recently added to the Berkeley County team, but he is no stranger to law enforcement.
Deputy Drayton began his career in 2012. Deputy Drayton has experience working Patrol and Traffic (Collision Reconstruction & DUI). Throughout his career he has served as a Corporal and Sergeant. Before coming to Berkeley County, Drayton was the Major, Assistant Chief over the City of Summerville Police Department's Explorer Program. Drayton has received a variety of law enforcement training to include becoming an Active Shooter Instructor, Field Training Officer, DUI/SFST Instructor and he is also a Certified Bicycle Officer.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Disaster and Emergency Management, and graduated Cum Laude. Prior to law enforcement, Deputy Drayton served his country as a Marine. He joined the Marine Corps in 2009 for active duty. Currently, he a Marine Corps Reserve Staff Sergeant.
FUN FACT: Deputy Dezmon became a Police Explorer in 2006 and he credits his law enforcement career to their youth mentorship program.
"When I'm not working in my community, I enjoy spending time with my family." Deputy Dezmon Drayton said. "My two dogs, a German Shepard and a Lab, are my best friends. I enjoy destressing with them."
Deputy Drayton wants to Become a First Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserve and also become a K-9 Handler, one day.
