REMINDER: Have you made your 4th quarter estimated tax payment yet?

For the 2025 tax year, the final estimated tax payment is due January 15, 2026.

Also, starting September 30, 2025, the IRS is moving away from paper check tax payments — meaning most federal tax payments, including estimated taxes for Q4 and any balances due, will need to be made electronically (e.g., IRS Direct Pay, EFTPS, IRS online account, debit/credit card, etc.).

Electronic payments help ensure your payment gets credited on time and can reduce processing delays. If you haven’t made the switch yet, now’s a good time to get comfortable with the options.

For a limited time, and to a limited number of prospective clients, I am considering offering heavily discounted and possibly even free bookkeeping services as a way for prospective clients to test drive my bookkeeping services.

Most of my accounting experience is in property management/real estate, construction, and nonprofits. Preference will be given to those industries and new businesses.

Please share to anyone you know who may be interested, and message me or comment with any questions.

44 years old.

That is how old Sam Walton was when he started building Walmart, and NOW I have to hear all of you tell me that you don’t have time, and it’s over, and you missed your moment, and all this bu****it because you’re 28 and you feel like you’ve taken a secure job and have given up on your dreams.

I’m just completely blown away by people’s lack of understanding. Look at what’s going on with me right now.

At 31 years old, I was a wine merchant in New Jersey, going to the store every single day, buying and selling wine. That was my life.

I’m just completely confused by people’s lack of ability to understand that you still have time.

Are you an independent contractor/small business owner? Do you dread pulling together your business transactions for tax time? Hate doing your bookkeeping? Struggling to use QuickBooks Online? It doesn’t need to be that way. Contact me for a free consultation so you can focus on running your business and doing what you do best.

For current and potential QuickBooks Online (including Quickbooks self-employed) customers:

Consider “after-the-fact” bookkeeping services which will leave your books clean and ready for tax time in January instead of scrambling in April (or better yet, October), with the added benefits of reconciled bank and credit card statements, knowing your books are complete and no tax deductions are missed, your data is backed up and stored safely in the cloud, having 1099s tracked and timely filed, and knowing how much money you’re making (or losing) in real time instead of at tax time.

Independent contractors/gig workers - Starting at $40/mo

Small businesses - starting at $100/month

These are the prices for me (a licensed CPA and also available as your tax advisor) managing your books, not somebody who only does bookkeeping and knows nothing about tax compliance or savings strategies.

By the way, bookkeeping services are a 100% tax deductible expense for business owners and independent contractors. When your accountant does everything at tax time, they probably just give you one bill for their services - and, ethically, they need to prorate the portion applicable to your personal tax return, which isn’t deductible for most people.

With inflation as bad as it has been, I thought I would provide some resources for those who have very simple returns and/or cannot afford to pay for professional tax preparation services. I will also offer discounts for my new and returning clients who opt for remote and paperless services.

My first ever tax season was at an IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site when I was still in college. Every site (at least when I was there) is supervised by an on-site IRS agent to ensure quality tax preparation. These are designed for the elderly and those living in poverty, and you may be denied service if you're not in one of those two groups. You can use the link below to find a VITA site near you. More resources to follow in future posts.
