IT's TAX TIME,,,,,ALMOST......When you come to get your taxes done be sure to bring all paperwork, and dont forget, NYS unemployment does not send you your 1099G, you must go onto their site and print yourself. Bring your ID with you also. And if you had a new baby last year i will need social security card and birth certificate. If you have children that are in daycare, the limit you can claim has gone up, so remember to ask your provider for a year end accounting. Another important paper is the one the IRS is sending for the Advanced Child Tax Credit that you may have received from july thru december, be sure to bring that letter with you (if we have the wrong figures the irs is saying there could be a significant delay in your refund). One other important thing, if you had no income and have kids that are your qualifying children, you are entitled to the child tax credit for the 2021 tax year (all of it if you did not receive the advance, and the remainder if you did receive the advance credit).
