Clark Wealth Partners LLC

Clark Wealth Partners LLC Comprehensive wealth & financial planning with a client-centered, balanced approach. This is the typical mindset many of us have when it comes to money.

Do you ever think to yourself….

● I will finally live my life once I make [x] salary.

● I will finally be happy once I finally have [x] in my bank account.

● I will finally stop worrying once I have [x] saved for retirement. If the answer is yes, you have most likely been conditioned to define contentment, security, and success as [x] number. Many highly-driven, affluent individuals are often m

otivated by the idea of reaching a monetary milestone so they can finally feel as though they’ve “made it” in their lives. This is what I call the “[X Number] Complex.”

But even when we reach that number, whatever it may be, the outcome we hope for is not what we envisioned. When you have “[X Numer] Complex”, you NEVER feel like you have enough money. That is because we are looking at money the wrong way. Money on its should not be viewed as something that will make you happy - it should support the things in life that bring you happiness. As a 20+ year financial advisor with a background in working with wealthy individuals, I’ve seen firsthand the sacrifices made based on this idea that “more is better.” Difficult and even heartbreaking events in my own life have led me to a transformative experience. They’ve challenged me to fully embrace what it means to be fulfilled authentically, escaping the control that money, and especially [x] number, had on my own happiness. My mission is to bring this refreshed perspective to others by helping them truly own their wealth rather than feel consumed by an arbitrary number that has defined their success and ultimately their self-worth for too long. Why Work with the Clark Wealth Partners:

1. Caring about your present as much as your future. While being prepared for the future is crucial in any financial relationship, I’m just as focused on what you want your life to look like right now. If we have tunnel vision towards just tomorrow, we never live in the moment. I believe success is based on how you use your money to make your ideal life a reality TODAY. Not in some distant future or just in retirement.

2. Having the tough conversations that you need. I’m not afraid to get to the heart of what you truly want and what is holding you back. My process is focused on encouraging people to be vulnerable - not just serve as the “yes man.” You can get that anywhere. Rather than pushing aside the emotions behind money and your life, those feelings need to be truly embraced and expressed in order to uncover what will bring you fulfillment. This process of retraining your money mindset can be scary and uncomfortable, but I am willing to guide you through it every step of the way because I know the value it brings.

3. Educating and guiding you through a connection to wellness. Empowerment through financial literacy is one of the core pillars of my practice, but I strive to go beyond the typical tools and resources that most financial advisors provide (a.k.a the Quarterly Commentary PDF). Having a healthy relationship with money also means nurturing your awareness and focusing on your behaviors, tendencies, and internal levers that drive you. That is why I help connect my clients to outside health and wellness experts and resources so they can learn and grow as human beings, not just continue living as “walking wallets.”

Four years of Clark Wealth Partners.

We celebrated the occasion with the full team, Beth, and a table full of incredible food at Le Ono, one of our favorite restaurants.

There is a lot that goes into building a firm, but none of it happens without good people. We are grateful for this team, the families behind them, the community that has supported us, and every client who has placed their trust in CWP.

We are proud of how far we have come and even more excited about where we are going.

Happy fourth anniversary, CWP.

Yesterday Andy Branz and James spent the day in Union MO at American Welding Academy.

If you haven't been inside AWA, here's what you're missing: a room full of people learning a trade that will feed a family for forty years. Pipe. Fabrication. AWS and ASME certifications that mean something the second a graduate walks onto a job site. Instructors who stand at the booth next to you until you get it right.

We spend a lot of time with families making decisions about what comes after high school. The mistake we see isn't picking the wrong path: it's picking one by default, without ever running the numbers on cost, time, and what the job market on the other side actually pays. That's true whether the path is a four-year degree or anything else. What AWA offers is a real option that deserves to be on the list, not an afterthought.

Andy and James were there to walk the team through their retirement plan and sit down one-on-one with anyone who wanted to talk through their own financial picture - no sales pitch, just questions answered.

Grateful AWA trusts us with this piece of their business. To every student walking through those doors this year - you picked a good one. 🔥

Four years old as of Saturday.

No speeches. Just a thank you.

To this team (Jake McKinney, Dana Wheeler, Denise Huebner Kellermann, Andy Branz, Mike Clark): you work harder than anyone sees and you care more than the job requires. Four years in, that hasn't slipped once.

To our clients: you trust us with big decisions. That's not something we'll ever be casual about.

Money is fuel to help you live the life you want. We're just getting warmed up.

Here's to five.

Proud to share some news from Clark Wealth Partners: Jake McKinney, CPA has been named Director of Wealth Management.

Since joining 2.5 years ago, Jake has become a cornerstone of the firm - leading our tax planning as a CPA and taking on a strong, yet still growing role in how we serve our clients and run the business. This step reflects the leadership he brings every day and his part in shaping where CWP goes next.

Congratulations, Jake!!! Well earned!!! Jake McKinney

We have a special place in our heart for family businesses. DBA Custom Woodworking is a great local company that has a tremendous story about taking a leap of faith in following one's passion. There's only one thing better than following your passion - doing it with family. Great story and what a great family and company!

Something a little different on this Independence Weekend. Independence means a lot of different things to different people. I was truly honored to be contacted and interviewed about this topic from a different perspective. It is humbling to think that someone wanted our story told on the same weekend that we celebrate the 250th Birthday of the Greatest Country on earth’s founding. We can never forget those who came before us that offered us the opportunity to succeed and prosper.

Thank you to O'Fallon Area Living - Best Version Media and Neighbors of Clinton County - Best Version Media for featuring Mike Clark in this month’s Inside Our Community.

When business picks up, it’s easy to assume the answer is simply to work harder. But as Mike shares in the article, sustainable growth often depends on something deeper: building the right structure, trusting the people around you, and learning not to carry everything alone.

At Clark Wealth Partners, we believe strong teams, clear standards, and shared responsibility matter in business, in leadership, and in life. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share this perspective with our community.

One of the most overlooked retirement planning challenges is that reducing future taxes is not always as simple as doing the biggest Roth conversion possible.

For many retirees and pre-retirees, the decision involves balancing several moving pieces at the same time:
• Future Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
• Current tax brackets
• Medicare IRMAA surcharges
• Affordable Care Act Marketplace premium subsidies
• Available cash to pay conversion taxes
• Long term estate and legacy goals

A Roth conversion may reduce future taxable income and future RMDs, but the added income today can also increase Medicare premiums or reduce health insurance subsidies. The most effective strategy is often finding the conversion amount that creates the best overall outcome rather than simply maximizing the conversion itself.

Retirement income planning is rarely about optimizing a single variable. It is about understanding how taxes, healthcare costs, and cash flow interact over multiple decades.

The best planning conversations often start with a simple question:

"What is the total cost and total benefit of this decision, both today and in the future?"
