I am Denise Kean, owner of Bluebird Tax & Accounting. My son Riley Kean is a Bookkeeper in our office and will also be helping out during tax season. Some of you may recognize us from a different tax office that we worked at the last couple of years. You had wanted to schedule with me at that office and I will not be there this year. Please call 816-643-3325 and we can get you scheduled. At our office we do the taxes while you are sitting with us or you can drop them off. We also have a portal that you can upload your documents to. If you are coming to our office for the first time, we will need a copy of your previous tax return as well. If you own an S-corp and actively work in the business, don’t assume you can take everything as distributions. Reasonable compensation is important and we can help you!! Mileage rates increase as of July 1st!

Business Use: 76 cents/ mile up from 72.5 cents/mile

Medical: 23 cents/mile up from 20.5 cents/mile

It’s last day of tax season!! It’s been a great 2nd year. Thank you to everyone that came to us to file your taxes this year! We have met a lot of amazing people. We hope to see you all next year!
