Form 1099-K โ€“ Did You Know?

If you receive a Form 1099-K, review it for payments that may not be taxable, such as reimbursements from friends or family. If these payments were mistakenly included, ask the payment processor to issue a corrected form. Keep in mind that some transactions involving personal items may still have tax consequences, particularly if you sold an item for more than you paid for it.

๐Ÿ“Œ MYTH vs. FACT

โŒ Myth
๐Ÿ’ญ "I made more sales this year, so my business must be more profitable."

โœ… Fact
Higher sales donโ€™t automatically mean higher profits.

As your revenue grows, so can your expenses include payroll, inventory, operating costs, and overhead. If those costs rise faster your sales, your profits may actually shrink.

That's why itโ€™s important to look beyond your top line revenue and regularly review your financial statements.

๐Ÿ“Š Revenue shows how much you earned. Profit shows how much you actually keep.

Understanding both is essential for making informed business decisions and building long-term financial success.
