Final Ruling on FinCen BOI filing:

[Updated March 21, 2025] All entities created in the United States — including those previously known as “domestic reporting companies” — and their beneficial owners are now EXEMPT from the requirement to report beneficial ownership information (BOI) to FinCEN. Existing foreign companies that must report their beneficial ownership information have at least an additional 30 days from the date of publication of the interim final rule. One of my biggest pet peeves is home owners not taking full advantage of savings! Most home owners buy a home, receive the details of their mortgage and pay as directed. Yet they miss out on THOUSANDS of dollars of savings! Let me explain:
Most mortgages are set to a 30 year term. In this example, let's say the mortgage is $475,000 at a 7% interest for 30 years, with a payment of $3,160 per month. That $475,000 home is really costing you $662,667 in 30 years with interest. But did you know that if you pay an extra payment of $3,160 each year (13 payments instead of 12) that you could save $156,023 in interest over 24 years instead of 30 years? Or if you paid the half the payment every two weeks, rather than the full payment once a month, you could save $168,863 in interest, and be paid off in 24 years instead of 30? Or if you rounded up your payment to $3,200 instead of the $3,160 that you could save $32,483 in interest and be paid off in 28.8 years instead of 30? Most mortgages now a days do not charge prepayment penalties. And even the ones that do, still wouldn't charge anywhere near what your savings are. There's many early payment calculators online where you can enter your specific numbers and see your potential savings. Start early. Save as much as you can. Maybe it's one less shopping spree or vacation each year, but the enormous savings you will receive make that sacrifice worth it!

Latest Update on BOI Filing- voluntary filing/not required at the moment. (This is getting exhausting to keep up with 😆)
In light of a recent federal court order, reporting companies are NOT currently required to file beneficial ownership information with FinCEN and are NOT subject to liability if they fail to do so while the order remains in force. However, reporting companies may continue to voluntarily submit beneficial ownership information reports.

This is a new requirement for all businesses active in 2024. Even if you close business before year end, if you were active one day of 2024, you must file! It's a very easy filing, but should be done directly on the .gov website. DO NOT click a link from 3rd party. Contact me for more info!
