We have been tracking the storm and due to the likely impact of Hurricane Milton our office will be closed Wednesday 10/9 – Thursday 10/10. If everything is safe, we will re-open on Friday 10/11/24.

Effective September 30, 2024, Florida’s minimum wage will increase to $13 per hour. The minimum base wage for tipped employees will increase to $9.98 per hour. Make sure that your new hires and current employees are at $13.00/ hour or higher.

As the April 15th deadline approaches, we want to remind everyone that an extension to file is not an extension to pay taxes. If you normally owe taxes or think you might owe this tax year, you should pay them before the due date to avoid potential penalties and interest on the amount owed.

Taxpayers can choose to submit an electronic payment and select Form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File, or extension, as the payment type. The IRS will process it as an extension automatically, and taxpayers won't need to file Form 4868.

Taxpayers can also select an extension without payment. You can file an extension for free by using the IRS Free File at IRS.gov/freefile or by filing form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File.

For most taxpayers, the deadline to file their personal federal tax return, pay any tax owed or request an extension to file is Monday, April 15, 2024.

We recommend you gather all the information before trying to file to make sure nothing is missed. If you normally have a balance due or think you might owe, we suggest you make a payment online before the deadline to avoid any penalties. You can make those payments online using the DirectPay site without having to create an online account.
