Our new office is up and running and we are welcoming new clients! Given the current state of Covid19, masks are encouraged of everyone and required of those not fully vaccinated and boosted. Phone or Zoom meetings are safe alternatives. It's not about politics, it's about not getting sick during tax season. Thanks!

Federal filing season has been extended from April 15 to July 15. Still waiting to hear from Oregon (and 43 other states) and City of Portland. Will keep you posted as we are able to.

Our current focus is identifying clients who are due refunds and find themselves in difficult financial conditions and getting those returns filed as quickly as possible. All others are asked to be patient. We'll get through this!

IRS has granted an automatic 90-day extension to July 15 for tax payments. The actual forms, however, are still due April 15. We anticipate filing extensions for most clients over the next few weeks. Still don't know what would happen in the event of a shelter-in-place order, guess we'll cross that bridge if/when we get to it. Stay healthy everyone!

CoVid19 Update - In light of the CoVid virus, we are trying to avoid or limit in-person tax interviews for the foreseeable future. If you feel you have a real need to come in and discuss a particular issue, we understand and will accommodate you, but otherwise we are asking all clients to mail or upload all documents or drop them off in a box we have set at the base of our stairs. We would be happy to have a follow up phone consultation if needed.

If you are currently scheduled for a tax interview, we will keep our calendar clear during that time so you may call and discuss any important issues. If you’d like to send us your documents electronically ahead of time, let us know and we will set up a folder for you on our secure file portal. Or just drop them in the mail and we’ll let you know when they arrive.

As far as we know, filing deadline for tax returns is still April 15. We anticipate filing more extensions than usual this year. We assume the IRS will grant automatic extensions in the case of a complete curfew, but at this time have received no guidance. We will try to keep everyone posted. Please bear with us and know we are doing all we can to keep this tax season running as smoothly as possible!

Apparently there was a fire last night in the building that houses the post office we use. We haven't heard yet how that will impact mail sent to our PO Box. Might be best to mail to our street address for the time being.

Yikes, what a winter! If you're wondering when we'll be sending tax organizers, well...soon. We're working on it! Hopefully the weather allows us to get them finished and in the mail this week. :)
